So you must be thinking... why over the past 5 years have close to 100 Firefighters from across York Region volunteered countless hours attending hundreds of events across the GTA, spending time away from their friends & family over weekends and holidays?

Why would we choose to dedicate so much time, energy and money and what is our inspiration? As Firefighters, we are dedicated to making a difference, whether on duty fighting fires or off duty at a local mall selling calendars.
WE ARE DEDICATED TO SAVING LIVES.

The Firefighters Of York Region have enjoyed tremendous success over the years thanks to the support of our fans, friends, colleagues, sponsors and the community at large. What started out as a local fundraiser quickly grew beyond the borders of York Region, extending to the GTA, across the province, and most recently, the other side of the world.

Our 2007 Tribute - Buseko House, Ndola, Zambia Africa

Each and every year our calendar has been dedicated to a friend who helps put a face to the name of a terrible disease called Cancer. Beverly Thomson and Sheila Clark have spent the past few years battling against breast cancer and are alive today to tell us their victorious survivor stories.

We will always remember the courageous battles of Christopher Stephenson and Rachel Higgins who fought just as hard and left us all too soon but not before touching and teaching all those who knew them.

The 2007 Firefighters Of York Region have taken the initiative to help our brothers and sisters in Africa. During a recent trip to help build an orphanage for the children of Buseko House, The Firefighters of York Region also took some much needed equipment to the Firefighters of Ndola, Zambia. As you can imagine, the need in Africa was much greater than anticipated and thus the decision has been made to adopt the Ndola Fire Brigade. The Firefighters Of York Region plan to send more equipment and manpower to provide the Ndola Firefighters with the ability and training to save more lives in their community.

No longer will we be crossing borders, but also crossing oceans as The Firefighters Of York Region continue to make a difference at home. Continuing our commitment to support local charities, we are also expanding into global fundraising efforts and reaching our ultimate goal of making a difference and saving lives a continent away.
